The goal of the Pre-Competitive Academy (PCA) is to provide a bridge between the recreational league and our competitive teams. Arkansas United Competitive teams typically start playing in the Arkansas Competitive League at the age of 11U and 12U and play games against some of the best teams in the state.
The most important benefit to participating in our PCA is the professional training and guidance the players will receive from the licensed Arkansas United Coaching Staff.
In the past, our youngest teams have experienced quite the learning curve with the transition from our recreational league to the APL competitive play due to the quality of teams and the increased speed of play. The focus will be on the development of each individual's technical skills with an introduction to the fundamental tactics within a 7v7 team format to better prepare your player to enter our Competitive Program at 11U.
Season: The Pre-Competitive Academy (PCA) will be a 12-week program offered in the Fall and Spring.
Age Groups / Teams: Players born in 2012 and 2013 can register to participate in the program. The first two weeks of the season will be used as an evaluation period. From there, players will be placed on a team for the upcoming season based on their player evaluation.
Training: Players will train three days a week in the following format - two team-based sessions with their team coach and an age group training session run by our coaching staff. Actual training days, times, and locations will be set in late summer.
Player Expectations: Players will be expected to work hard, listen and respond positively to coaching, have a high attendance at training and games, be punctual for all club activities, dressed appropriately in United attire, adhere to United's core values, and practice regularly outside the program to develop his/her individual skills.
Games: PCA players will play approximately 8-10 league games during the season. League Games will be centrally based and each team will play in one local tournament per season. For example, in the Fall the local tournament will be our Capital City Cup.
Cost: Registration Flat Rate fee of $350.00 that will cover everything associated with the fall season. Uniforms will be purchased separately by each family and can be used for multiple seasons. The estimated cost is $125.00 plus tax. Optional warm-ups and backpacks are not included. This fee includes USSF and State registration, Player insurance, League registration and monthly coaching fees with licensed staff, referee fees, assigning fees, and 1 tournament in the fall season.
Arkansas United Soccer Club formerly known as Little Rock Futbol Club has been a 501c3 nonprofit youth organization serving our community since 1980. Our principal mission is the promotion of youth soccer. We strive to instill a love for the game in each of our players and to provide an atmosphere where each player may participate and progress according to his or her interest and ability. We take great pride in developing our players as athletes, students and responsible young men and women. Our players form life-long friendships with their club mates, acquire leadership, teamwork and sportsmanship skills that ultimately prepare them for life beyond soccer.
