The goal of the Pre-Competitive Academy (PCA) is to provide a bridge between the recreational league and our competitive teams. Arkansas United Competitive teams typically start playing in the Arkansas Premier League at the age of 11U and 12U and play games against some of the best teams in the state.
The most important benefit to participating in our PCA is the professional training and guidance the players will receive from the licensed Arkansas United Coaching Staff.
In the past, our youngest teams have experienced quite the learning curve with the transition from our recreational league to the APL competitive play due to the quality of teams and the increased speed of play. The focus will be on the development of each individual's technical skills with an introduction to the fundamental tactics within a 7v7 team format to better prepare your player to enter our Competitive Program at 11U.
Season: The Pre-Competitive Academy (PCA) will be a 12 week program in the Fall and in the Spring.
Age Groups: Players born in 2011 and 2012 can participate in the tryout evaluation process. The player evaluation session dates for the PCA will announced soon. The sessions will determine player placement and how many Boys and Girls teams we will form.
Teams: The Pre-Competitive Academy players will be invited to play on a team based on their evaluation from the tryouts. Teams will only be created from the top level players that attend the evaluations in each age group.
Training: Players will train three days a week in the following format - two team based sessions with their team coach and an age group training session run by our coaching staff. Actual training days, times, and locations will be set in late summer.
Player Expectations: Players will be expected to work hard, listen and respond positively to coaching, have a high attendance at training and games, be punctual for all club activities, dressed appropriately in United attire, adhere to United's core values, and practice regularly outside the program to develop his/her individual skills.
Games: PCA players will play in the Pre-Arkansas Premier League against other clubs from Arkansas Premier Clubs (APC) and play approximately 8 league games. League Games will be centrally based with one jamboree (against our Northwest Arkansas clubs from APC in the spring) or our local tournament the Capital City Cup in the fall.
Cost: Registration fee of $250.00 that will cover both the Fall and Spring. Uniforms will be purchased separately by each family and can be used for multiple seasons. The estimated cost is $125.00 plus tax. Optional warm-up and backpacks are not included. There will also be a seasonal fee of $225.00 which includes monthly coaching fees with licensed staff, referee fees, assigning fees, and 1 tournament per season.
