Pre-Competitive Academy

What is the Pre-Competitive Academy?

The goal of the Pre-Competitive Academy (PCA) is to provide a bridge between the recreational league and our competitive teams. Arkansas Rising Competitive teams typically start playing in the Arkansas Competitive League at 11U and 12U and play games against some of the best teams in the state.

The most crucial benefit to participating in our PCA is the professional training and guidance the players will receive from the licensed Arkansas Rising Coaching Staff.

In the past, our youngest teams have experienced quite the learning curve with the transition from our recreational league to the ACSL competitive play due to the quality of teams and the increased speed of play. Therefore, the focus will be on developing each individual's technical skills with an introduction to the fundamental tactics within a 7v7 team format to prepare your player better to enter our Competitive Program at 11U.

Details

Season: The Pre-Competitive Academy (PCA) will be a 12-week program in the Fall and Spring.

Age Groups / Teams: Players born in 2014 and 2015 can register to participate in the program. Players will be placed on teams based on the recommendations from the coaching staff.

Training: Players will undergo training three days a week, following this format: there will be a minimum of two team-based sessions with their designated team coach, and potentially an additional age group training session organized by our coaching staff for the third session. Specific details regarding training days, times, and locations will be determined in late winter.

Player Expectations:  Players will be expected to work hard, listen and respond positively to coaching,  have a high attendance at training and games, be punctual for all club activities, dress appropriately in Rising attire, adhere to Rising's core values, and practice regularly outside the program to develop their skills.

Games: PCA players will play approximately 7-10 league games during the season, with games being played primarily on a Saturday. League Games will be centrally based, and each team will play in one local tournament per season. For example, the local tournament will be our Capital City Cup in the Fall.

Cost: Registration Flat Rate Fee of $350.00 will cover everything associated with the spring season. This fee includes USSF and State registration, Player insurance, League registration, monthly coaching fees with licensed staff, referee fees, assigning costs, and one tournament per season. Each family will purchase uniforms separately, which can be used for multiple seasons. The estimated price is $125.00 plus tax. Optional warm-ups and backpacks are not included.

About Arkansas Rising

About

The purpose of Arkansas Rising is about players playing at the appropriate level to enhance their individual player development instead of just forming teams.  We believe that the overall level of training will improve, therefore creating a more challenging playing environment for each player, regardless of their placement within the club.  Research shows that when a player is placed at the appropriate level, their opportunity for growth will 'rise'.  This partnership expands our talent and the depth created will lead to more accurate player placement thus allowing more room for individual players to grow from within the organization.
